The Dinner by Herman Koch
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I know there's been a lot of comparisons between The Dinner and Gone Girl, and the biggest thing that I see in common between the two is that they both seem to have drawn a line in the literary sand: readers who hate it on one side, and readers who love it on the other. I'm on the latter side. I enjoyed the dark mood. Can't say too much more without giving out a lot of spoilers, but I'll just say that if you like the unreliable narrator (yikes, maybe I shouldn't even say that), you'll love it.
